PONYVILLE SQUARE

You are standing at the south end of a large, grassy field that is surrounded on three side by small houses. To the north, pink double doors stand open and beckon you inside of a three-story, circular building with dozens of windows and a red domed roof. An arched stone bridge leads east across a small river. A dirt path leads west around the southern edge of the town square. A large fountain is visible to the northwest at the far edge of the field.

A manila envelope lies at your feet.
There is a brass lantern here.

I shook my head as I suddenly realized that my surroundings were something that hadn't been before. I had been transported to some other worldly plane of existence. Fighting off the urge to panic, I patted my chest, pinching the flesh of my own hand with the other as to ensure that this wasn't some kind of dream.

Where am I?

I exclaimed to the open air, as if some person or being would manifest and answer al of my questions. I was only met with the simply envelope and lamp of a lantern. Curiously, I picked up the package and began to open it with a tearing of its materials with my fingers.

Raising a hand to my temples, I began to rub them with my finger tips as the fog of my memory began to clear somewhat. Perhaps it was the process of traveling that seemed to keep me in a daze for the moment.

"Magic Time Tunnel Travel Agency"? "Miniature Horse Wonderland"? Oh that's right.. I remember now..

I said as I folded the letter and tucked it away within one of my pockets. I began to walk towards the large set of pinkish double doors. I looked for a sign that might identify what sort of building this place was; whether it was business of sorts, or someone extravagant home. Though with the style of such, I figured it might be safe.

Alright Shalissa, time to see exactly what a "Horse Wonderland" is all about.

Untreated wooden stairs lead up to a deck that encircles the first of three apparent levels of the wooden rotunda. Exposed support beams and perimeter columns serve to bolster the second and third exterior deck levels and stabilize a very top-heavy structure. Stained glass windows with regular patterns accent each of the 3 levels but obscure your view of anything inside. The building is capped by a red shingled dome which is itself capped by a round spire, and these together contain another two dozen or so stained glass windows. Pink double doors stand open and beckon you inside.

Someone has an eye for architecture.. I assume this must be some kind of town hall. Maybe I'll get answers in here!

With growing curiosity and a compelling urge to see what was inside, I approached the doors that seemed to have an open door policy to anyone who would be so inclined to enter inside the beacon like center piece for this rather rustic town intertwined with the very land itself.

I called out with a hint of concern to my voice. I hadn't seen any people, 'horses' for the adventure, or any sign of life for that matter.

I'm here for the.. "Equine wonderland." Anybody there?

I said with a shake of my head. Perhaps this wasn't real at all and I was simply dreaming? Perhaps someone slipped me something I wasn't supposed to have. Despite having read the letter after coming to my senses, something felt off. It was quiet.. To quiet.. Whatever the case may have been, I felt prepared for whatever madness might come about within the calm before the storm.
