Trump wants to change that. Which, I guess I understand.
I don't really know enough of other nations to get a good vibe, but I know that Mexico and Canada specifically were supposed to be under an economic union with us, where we could trade without tarrifs, but that only ever really applied to the US, as Canada especially never had issue taxing American product.
We'll see how it goes, but on the whole I'm not opposed to the idea of telling the world the cookie jar is empty.
