As far as a story goes, nothing really. The plot is a little generic, but the dungeon they are exploring is really neat in that you get to see the ecosystem flushed out. I really like the scenes where they make monster food as well. It really is just a bit vore fetishy, and the elf chick constantly gets either bound by tentacles, vines, or someone gets paralyzed or infected with parasites. (The elf girl in episode two gets wrapped up with these plants that dig seeds into your skin, and the warrior comments on how it looks cozy and want to try and see if the seeds will grow on the surface level of his skin.) The elf chick also seemed to have the hots for the halfling in an "Ara ara~" sort of way. Death is treated more like a response and the whole reason they are questing is because the fighter's sister gets swallowed whole by a dragon. (And they keep commenting on how she's being slowly digested.)

All of that out of the way and it's pretty entertaining. The dwarf is voiced by ProdZD and he does a good job of it. The show is also pretty self aware at times. (Also I was crazy thinking about it.. Total Spies and Archie's Weird Mysteries hold the heavy weight title for fetish bait.)

When the girl was in the seed burrowing bondage tentacle mess, his first response was to talk about how cozy it looks and was tempted to let the seeds grow in his arm on the surface level of the skin. He not only talks about how much he loves monsters in a pseudo sexual way, but how he wants to eat them and taste their flavors. He practically has an erection while killing and cutting up monsters in order to eat. His sister gets swallowed alive by a dragon and the first thing he does is he moans about how hungry he is and talk about how she will be SLOWLY digested as if that some how makes it BETTER. This man is obsessed with monsters, eating, and VORING monsters.
With all that said, the entire main cast so far is pretty likeable. (The elf, the human, the dwarf man, and the halfling. I don't like the sister)
Also the dub is better in my opinion.

This was like the first moment that I actually really began to understand and really like the elf girl.

She normally speaks regularly, but the Mandrake scrambled her break. The entire script is as followed:

"Yeah. I have never felt better." It skips a little of what she says after but she follows up with, "Well, I heard my party call me a burden, and I freaked out. I do what I did to get back at them and make them grovel at my foots. If I feel like I'm in the way and not helpful, it makes me real sad."

I found it a significant moment because while this is going on, her brain is still all scrambled up. What she was saying was a truth that normally might have never surfaced for a lot of other people; making it powerful. Even the way the normally cold halfling reacts feels natural. He immediately recoils and realizes that how they were treating her was deeply hurting her feelings.

Edit: one annoyance I have is that it shows how powerful the party has gotten, and yet, when the eastern party comes up they act all high and mighty and intimidate our group of heros. That bitch in white threatens Marcille when Marcille is clearly stronger than her. Shiro is presented as strong, but gets his ass handed to him by Laios. He even sucker punches and pushes, him like three times, strangeled him prior, and Laios still doesn't register it was a fight. What a fucking chad. Then he punches Shiro once and the guy drops like a cherry tree. You can tell Liaos is holding back. It just pisses me off that they act meek, but are clearly stronger than anyone in the eastern party

I just finished the show. For a pseudo dungeons and dragons cooking show with a very vore like end game plan cliff hanger for season 2, it was surprisingly good.

The party is awesome and the cat girl grew on me quite a bit. There were a few surprisingly emotional moments and the animation seemed to get better as time went on. I really like how the party breaks the mold of what you expect them to be right off the bat, and while the show revolves around cooking and voring monsters (like how anime fixates on a concept and makes it ever aspect of life. Ex: Baki the Grappler and fighting,) I really like how there's some positive messages to the audience even if it's as simple as "Try adding a bit of variety to your life."

Oh yeah, and I'm actually pleasantly surprised that all of the cooking scenes didn't get old for me. It actually felt kind of cozy listening to ProdDz as a dwarf instructing his party members on how to make something as 'mundane' as bread, to cooking red dragon meat, to living Jack-o-Lantern and Dryad soup with cheese. It felt cozy.
