Remember to hug a reptilian.

They’re cold blooded and need the warmth

Depends heavily on the reptile, and even then, most do enjoy socializing if they're trained on it early.

They really don't. You can teach it 'tricks' by feeding them after patting them on the back and the so called socializing would be just that. A trick it performs because it knows it means dinner time.
They are tiny psychopaths. From snake to tortoise.
That one video where the turtles are helping that one turtle that has fallen on its shell. They really aren't helping it. They are annoyed by it. Turtles bump their shells into things that annoy them and the outcome looks (to us as empathetic apes) as if it's being helped by its comrades. As for them, they are just curb stomping someone who is down.
We are applying our ape ways of thinking onto reptilian behavior because that is pretty much all that we do. The blank spot in empathy if you will. A wish that is stronger, that they should be like us, than a realization that they are not like us.

It could be argued that humans only help those who are down because if they don't their screams will annoy us.
Turtles aren't robots. It's not uncommon for animals to display levels of empathy previous thought exclusive to humans.

The wild is a place of extremities that cause animals to act in extreme ways. Human beings in the wild are extremely violent and horrifically cruel creatures when we need/want to be.

Just as it is ignorant to assume that humans are so above primal savagery, it is ignorant to assume animals aren't capable or even finding comfort in things such as love, companionship, and entertainment. Even animals like to play games. That said it is also ignorant to assume that "Aww the animal is being nice!" most of the time. You aren't gonna see me jump into a pond to try and hug a crocodile. Motherfucker will probably deathroll and rip me in half.

At the end of the day, you could see a dog only wanting to be around you for food, water, and shelter; which isn't true at all. Sure, we can't see into the inside of how an animal thinks due to the limitations of communication, but it is fairly obvious -- And again at the end of the day are showing a form of affection even if you see it as just a way to get food, water, and shelter. (Especially when they seek attention even when not hungry.)

A step away from dogs and cats would be pigs, cows, goats, ect. Which if you could easily say do enjoy affection. After that I'd argue would be birds. Again, they thrive on affection and attention.

Snakes in particular are animals that are solitary, and yet I've seen snakes get quite needy when it comes to their owners.

Not so. You don't need to feed it at all, for them to not only become used to being handled, but enjoy it. On the contrary, most of what I've seen in regards to such things avoids such, largely out of practicality.

You're not wrong that people're quick to apply our ape thinking to things that aren't necessarily engaging in it, but so too is it ape thinking to assume everything which does not react as a mammal or human would is psychopathic.

Slaanesh shows up with the ugliest of hoes, and worse than that, they're basic too.

Exactly. They're basic. You should get 'incubus' twinks, birdgals with natural feather-made shortskirts, multi-breasted cat-beasts, sequin-scaled lizardesses who gleam like gemstones, and so on. All in a variety of outfits that aren't just "boring BDSM club" trash.

Hell, even pride parades manage to beat them out, these days.

Everything is symbolic in the warp and each Daemonette's quote on quote "True form" is dictacted by Slaanesh's current mood. They sort of just pop out of thin air as the neverborn tend to do. The exception are the Keepers who are 'handcrafted' by the Prince himself. Some are ugly and need to shapeshift into beautiful and alien figures, while others are naturally beautiful and it takes 'effort' to shapeshift a more hideous visage.

The hoes that Slaanesh brings to the field are probably the most battle aggressive and ugly on purpose. (The real reason is that they don't want to show to sexy ones who canonically seduce men into a hyponotic and near catatonic state with open arms as they get eviscerated by razor sharp claws and teeth.)
>Basic
You're gonna have to explain yourself on that one. Actually I think you just did. (Reading)

By canon all of that does exist. To add such diversity would cost GW 'too much money' (it really wouldn't at this point) and Slaanesh is one of the least popular Gods, so they probably don't see it as worth it. Not to mention a lot of people get more turned off by Sex rather than violence when it comes to that sort of thing. They're playing it safe by making them "Rawr! XD" ugly monster girls.
>Twink
>Short skirts
>Multi-breasted

God.. That's so fucking hot

There's nothing wrong with BDSM. The issue is that for a God that is about creative diversity, the leather department is over saturated and becomes run-of-the-mill. It's why a lot of people have an issue with space marines or Guardsmen. (even though you can decorate them and customize their armor if you know what you're doing)

To truly represent an Army of Slaanesh it would actually look more akin to the Eclipse from Berserk. Those things were extremely Slaaneshi in my personal opinion. But from a mechanical perspective of the game that mighgt not work either because then your opponent wouldn't even be able to tell what is what.

Give and take. It's limitations of the game and GW's greed.

I mean, bondage is great. I like bondage. Albeit, I don't really care for the leather straps, personally, so much as simple restrictions on movement.
But it's rather flavourless.

I agree GW's playing it safe, with the tamest forms of degeneracy; Part of my irritation with it all.
Slaanesh is not even the most degenerate faction in their setting. It's painful.

There's so much you could do, and I only gave the most barebones of examples for practicality's sake.
I mean, hell, with the power of the warp, you can have portal sex too, anywhere any time. Probably the same time as someone else, given magic bullshit.
Every daemonet just going "I am hot lets bang in le brothel" is just so empty.

I wouldn't call leather flavorless, (I've never been a fan myself,) but oversaturated is a word I'd use here.

The warp is symbolic and everyone can recognize BDSM as being 'degenerate', especially considering the whole Satanism S&M/BDSM scare of the 60s - 80s.

I get your frustrations, but unfortunately with the company and the way marketing is, we're stuck with the same bland flavors of it all. Hell, even khorne spices their armies up with carnage. They have canons the fire flaming skulls that explode and dudes with chainsaws for hands. (Very symbolic in my opinion. These hands were meant only for sawing through meat and spilling blood!)

The hell flayers, steeds, and fiends are probably the more interesting of units because of how different they are. (And those giant psychic mirrors)

>slaanesh isn't even the most degenerate

They are an embodiment of said degenerate behavior and are outright powered up by the dark eldar in order to save their own souls for the moment.

Yes it is

>diversity

Its a double edged sword because on one hand I want to complain about it, but on the other there are armies that make it work despite that. Iron Warriors are a good example. Everything is grey and steel with the occasional hazard stripes to add color.

The orks are just trash everywhere and green. But they do make it work with the small details (Thug Lootas)

Slaanesh and her units do need more love, but I'm content with what's there. It just needs a little more spice even if its in tiny and subtle details of individual models. Have a darmonette bring a hand mirror into battle that she's staring at. Have a damonette with a busty chest using two regular hands to cup and display them while her actual weapons (her claws) are raised like a preying mantis ready to strike. Give me a sexy damonette who wears short shorts and a provocative top. Give me more symbolism!

I mean bondage itself. It's good, mind, but it's a spice to add to things, not the meal itself.

>Hell, even khorne spices their armies up with carnage.

He's a lot more straight forward overall, but even so, stuff like that does at least pop up in art, lore, and even models.
Slaanesh gets less than even the Sisters of Battle, let alone stuff like Dark Eldar.

>Everything is grey and steel with the occasional hazard stripes to add color

Sure, but that's kind of their 'thing', as opposed to a god of depravity.
They're supposed to be Grey and unyielding. They're not the main characters, they're the guys who do the job, basically.
Even so they do still get a range, for some of their stuff... but I've complaints for their depictions regardless, due to the abundance of lazy crap from GW around them, as well as just ignoring their lore.

For slaanesh, I just want some options that aren't unsexy blobs that don't even scream god of pleasure.

I get what you're saying, but I also think you're speaking of a place of bias with the Iron Warriors.

The daemonettes that GW are pushing are supposed to be their forms of monstrous and grotesque beauty. I'd recommend watching Hellraiser to get a better idea.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I can also see what GW is trying to push, even if it is the 'safer option. And to be honest now that I think about it I almost can't blame them. Warhammer is already a niche hobby and slaanesh is a niche God.

It probably would turn off new comers to the idea of playing it. I just wish they also recognized on the other end that devoted slasnesh enjoyers like myself would actually buy the models to have if they were more diverse and sexy in addition to the cool factor. (And if they were cheaper)

The last model I bought was like 60 bucks and it broke in like a week. The flag snapped in half just from dropping it. On carpet.. not only are they over priced but the quality of material has gone down significantly

As far as it stands; as much as I love the hobby GW will never see another penny from me again until something changes (with the exception of SM2. That is a good ass game)

It probably helps I'm a Fantasy guy, 'least these days.
Fantasy's much more willing to make the chaos gods generally more 'appealing' overall.
Why, just going through Gotrek and Felix yesterday, there was a rather neat moment with a Khornate, who basically followed the path of a Chaos Warrior for personal revenge, after being abused prior as a mere peasant gal, booted into the wilderness, and 'sacrificed'.
Turns out if you're enough of a chad with fire in you, Khorne will say "Aight, he's a knife. Have fun".

40k doesn't really like to do stuff like that. Chaos is just evil, pretty much, of the most corruptible variety. Turns everything hideous, mutates the lot, and generally makes it all feel miserable.
I guess it helps that I hate 'grimdark' as a term.

The forces of Slaanesh aren't really all that science-fiction-y in appearance as it is. I get what you're saying though.

I'm not saying I don't prefer my Daemonettes to be pretty. I would love it if there was more emphasis on the more beautiful yet alien side of things.

>Your picture

That's how they're supposed to look in my head. Beautiful, yet strange; almost to the point of horrific, yet undeniably attractive. (For other reasons other than "Look at this ugly demon girl. You just can't understand why they're pretty!") The only reason I defend ugly daemonettes is because that is canon as well. Daemonettes can take any form upon creation. Any form. I'm just going to head-canon that Slaanesh has been sending the ugly ones to cull their numbers. Hah.

>40k doesn't really like to do stuff like that. Chaos is just evil, pretty much, of the most corruptible variety.

That's because a lot of 40K fans are kind of stupid when it comes to the Chaos Gods. They don't really fully understand them. It shows in the authors for the books too, with some exceptions.

I wish people would understand that Slaanesh is an extremely complex God, and shouldn't just be thrown from one extreme of "They're ugly!" to the other of "Slaanesh is just about sex and drugs!"

It's so disrespectful!

>Chaos is just evil, pretty much, of the most corruptible variety. Turns everything hideous, mutates the lot, and generally makes it all feel miserable.

To be fair, I think a lot of that comes from the grand scale in that the galaxy is in constant war and the numbers are up there. Still, you'd think they'd show more of a range in scale of corruption and flavor. There was a video I once saw with someone talking about this: how the good aspects of each God aren't fully explored ever really. The galaxy is filled with trillions upon trillions of life forms, many of which are intelligent. They don't just fall to chaos because 'huurrr chaos is powafoo!" It's because Chaos comes in a range of temptation; many of which actually could easily benefit even the most common of person. People forget that there are good aspects to the Chaos Gods as well as the bad. It often does fall on the individual as to how far down the rabbit hole and how much of the Chaos Koolaid they really want to drink.

...With that said, most of the Imperium kind of pushes people to the extreme.
