>>8679I wouldn't call leather flavorless, (I've never been a fan myself,) but oversaturated is a word I'd use here.
The warp is symbolic and everyone can recognize BDSM as being 'degenerate', especially considering the whole Satanism S&M/BDSM scare of the 60s - 80s.
I get your frustrations, but unfortunately with the company and the way marketing is, we're stuck with the same bland flavors of it all. Hell, even khorne spices their armies up with carnage. They have canons the fire flaming skulls that explode and dudes with chainsaws for hands. (Very symbolic in my opinion. These hands were meant only for sawing through meat and spilling blood!)
The hell flayers, steeds, and fiends are probably the more interesting of units because of how different they are. (And those giant psychic mirrors)
>slaanesh isn't even the most degenerate They are an embodiment of said degenerate behavior and are outright powered up by the dark eldar in order to save their own souls for the moment.
Yes it is
>diversityIts a double edged sword because on one hand I want to complain about it, but on the other there are armies that make it work despite that. Iron Warriors are a good example. Everything is grey and steel with the occasional hazard stripes to add color.
The orks are just trash everywhere and green. But they do make it work with the small details (Thug Lootas)
Slaanesh and her units do need more love, but I'm content with what's there. It just needs a little more spice even if its in tiny and subtle details of individual models. Have a darmonette bring a hand mirror into battle that she's staring at. Have a damonette with a busty chest using two regular hands to cup and display them while her actual weapons (her claws) are raised like a preying mantis ready to strike. Give me a sexy damonette who wears short shorts and a provocative top. Give me more symbolism!
